Shipping policy
All orders are processed within 1-2 business days ( between Tuesday - Friday, excluding holidays ) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.
In-store or Curbside pickup
Our in-stock items can be ready for pickup within 3 hours of your online order ( between Tuesday - Friday, excluding holidays.) For quicker turnaround, please call the store to place your order. We will send you an email when your order is ready along with pickup instructions.
Our pickup hours are Tuesday - Friday 9:00 - 6:00, Saturday 9:00 - 4:00.
Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come to pick up your order.
Bulk Orders, Special Orders
Bulk orders must be placed by Friday at 12:00 noon, pick up is the week after, Tuesday or Thursday, depending on the supplier of your product request.
We consider a bulk order as follows:
- Dry food (3+ bags of the same brand/protein/size)
- Canned food (a case of 12 or 24 of the same brand/protein/size)
- Frozen food (3+ of the same brand/protein/size)
*Due to freezer space limitations, all frozen food bulk orders must be picked up within 2 hours of notification that the product has arrived to the store from the supplier’s delivery.
We are able to purchase many brands that you may be buying from other stores that you don’t necessarily see on our retail shelves or in our online store. Please call us for availability on any brand or product you’d like to be able to pick up at Animal Connection.
Local delivery
Free local delivery within Charlottesville city limits is available for orders over $45. Deliveries are made between 9:00 - 4:00, Tuesday - Friday (excluding holidays). We will contact you via text message with the phone number you provided at checkout to notify you that we are on the way with your delivery.
If you are not able to receive your product when we arrive, we will text a photo of the product on your doorstep as proof of delivery. You or a responsible adult must be at home to receive any frozen food deliveries so they can be put in the freezer immediately upon arrival.
Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates
For calculated shipping rates: Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
International Shipping
We do not offer international shipping at this time.
How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available.
If you haven’t received your order within 5 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at TalkToUs@AnimalConnectionVA.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
Shipping to P. O. boxes
Some carriers have limitations around shipping to P.O. Boxes. If one of your carriers falls into this group, you should look up their policy and communicate it to your customers here.
Refunds, returns, and exchanges
We want you to be happy with your purchases from Animal Connection. We’re not able to take back food products if they’ve been opened and will evaluate credits, exchanges or returns on a case by case basis, as long as you’ve contacted us within 10 days of original purchase.
If you or your pet are unhappy with your products or if you are experiencing an unexpected quality issue, please call or come by the store with your confirmation of purchase and we’ll discuss options.
Please note, all sales are final on any special ordered items. We cannot cancel an order once they have been placed with a distributor.
