We proudly support local rescues and shelters in Charlottesville and Central Virginia with donations of food, funds and event partnerships. We regularly feature "unsung heroes" on our weekly live Facebook show, What's Barking Local. The show is at no charge to the rescue groups and provides exposure to over 250,000 viewers a week. And, our annual Dog Fest brings together over 45 vendors including 15 large and small rescue groups, for a true celebration of our pet community.
Dogs or Cats offered for foster care or permanent adoption may have an unknown emotional history, dietary imbalance, medical challenge, insufficient grooming, or they may not be trained. We offer behavior counseling so you can help them become adjusted to your home life. We provide transitional food so they can begin to enjoy a better diet. We work with animals who are afraid of grooming and help them have a better experience. Family dog training in private or small group lessons is also available.
Our Pet Community Fund provides monthly donations to area rescue groups and non-profits and free pet food for anyone out of work or in need. We also donate pet food to local food pantries like Meals On Wheels and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. We have many years of relationships with pet food suppliers that can help stretch our donation dollars even further. If you'd like to help or make a donation, please contact Pattie Zeller, TalkToUs@AnimalConnectionVA.com.
