Full service, mobile grooming includes: bath with all-natural products, hand drying, ear cleaning, nail trim and shape, teeth brushing, clipping or breed-specific hand scissoring. For terrier breeds, we offer hand stripping. We do not offer cat grooming in our mobile unit.
Our service area includes Fluvanna, Palmyra, Lake Monticello, Keswick, Gordonsville, Charlottesville, Ivy and Crozet. Our mobile unit services a specific neighborhood once a week, so please call the store for availability. (NOTE: As of March 2017, there is a waiting list for mobile service. Please call the store and we’ll call you when there is an opening.) If you are outside our service area and we can work you into our schedule, there will be an extra fee for mileage and travel time. We consider our mobile grooming to be a maintenance service and most of those clients commit to a 6-8 week rotation schedule. If your dog is groomed once or twice a year, we will not be able to service your pet.
We ask for a credit card to keep on file to accept mobile reservations, but you may pay by check or cash instead when your grooming is completed.
If you need to reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible so we can allow others to be scheduled. We understand emergencies arise, but due to high demand, cancellations that occur in less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment will be charged $75 per dog. “No shows” at your appointment time will be charged the full grooming fee per dog plus mileage and travel time.
When you book your appointment, we’ll give you an estimate within a price range – the actual price will be confirmed when we evaluate your pet’s coat condition. There is an extra charge for excessive matting, unruly behavior and if we need to eliminate fleas and ticks. Due to the small space and ventilation in our vehicle, we are not able to do skunk odor removal.
Before your appointment time, make sure your dog has had a walk and taken care of “business.” There will be an extra charge if we have to do a second bath if your pet eliminates on the grooming table. Please provide a copy of your vaccination and rabies certificate for us to keep on file.
Please notify us in advance if your dog has had recent veterinary care that involves stitches or a previous injury so we can take extra care in those areas. If we think the dog is not able to be groomed because of medical reasons, we may decline service until the situation is resolved with your veterinarian. Because of liability issues, we cannot accept dogs who must be sedated for grooming services.
When you meet the groomer, we’ll go over your dog’s coat condition and styling requests and confirm how long it will take for their services. We allow extra time for puppies so they’ll have a good grooming experience and for older dogs who have stability issues and need extra care and handling.
If you have questions about how to take care of your dog’s coat in between appointments, please let us know and we’ll provide you with the right tools for the job and home care instructions. We also offer a “touch up” 15 min. IN-STORE appointment, available up to three weeks after a full groom, provided the coat is clean and manageable.
